FGX is on its way to being the greenest international air courier. We’ve cut carbon emissions per shipment and now we’d like to partner with suppliers who offer greener packing materials.

I’ve started referring to this sourcing project as “The Hunt for Green October” because that’s about when I expect we’ll find a manufacturer willing to offer a selection of greener shipping supplies. That may be hyperbolic but the hyperbole is warranted.

Greener packing materials do not seem to be at the top of the list of many manufacturers that we reached out to. We’re a vigilant bunch though. We are committed to finding ways to reduce the environmental impact of our shipping materials. In doing so, we’re reaching out to everyone who has an interest in responsible and sustainable business practices. Are you aware of some manufacturers who are leading the pack when it comes to recycled and sustainable shipping supplies?

I really want to find a purveyor of recycled plastic flyer bags (pouches for documents).   I’m also keen to find  some huge courier bags and some 100% post-consumer recycled paperboard express document mailers.  The other item that’s hard to find is a sample of an extra large, water-resistant courier sack.  I’m going to check in with a UK vendor to see if any of their suppliers can provide samples.
