Importer of Record and Pre-Shipment Documentation

The Ministry of Communications (MoC) is responsible for authorizing communications equipment into Israel. They regulate the importation of telecommunications, 5G, and Fiber equipment and may require specialized permits depending on the type of equipment. They typically provide general approval for WAN-enabled products but there is spectrum approval if the product has WIFI capabilities.

WAN Enabled vs. Wifi:
WAN (Wide Area Network) refers to a network of connected devices that are physically connected. Data centers, for example, can be considered WAN.

Wifi enabled capabilities are interconnected over a wider range are a non-exclusive, wireless network.

The SII is the Standards Institute of Israel. They set the standards and certifications necessary for a product to be approved for import. You must receive certification from the SII for all the products in your shipment before the shipment is received in customs.

FGX can help you obtain the necessary documentation in order to be in compliance with the Ministry of Communications and the Standards Institute of Israel. Each of these applications typically requires 5-7 business days and should be completed before shipping.
